Tarbosaurus bataar

The complete life-size skeletal cast of a juvenile meat-eating dinosaur will be on public display in St. Clair County Community College’s Experience Center in mid-October. The dinosaur, known as the Tarbosaurus bataar, was the Asian cousin of the Tyrannosaurus rex. Both lived during the late Cretaceous Period, some 70 million years ago. The original of this specimen was found in Mongolia, where it remains today. The addition of this rare cast skeleton to SC4’s collection was initiated and facilitated by a faculty member and made possible through donations from the SC4 Foundation and two Community Foundation donor-advised funds.
