The Experience Center

Four young children playing in the Augmented Reality Sandbox

Located in SC4’s Clara E. Mackenzie Building, The Experience Center houses a hands-on center and the Nasr Natural Science Museum. The museum has the largest collection of fossil artifacts in the Michigan Thumb region. Take in larger-than-life exhibits and study mammoth bones unearthed in Huron County.

Enjoy various permanent and rotating exhibits during your visit, including a towering display of mammoth bones discovered in Ubly, Michigan, a woolly rhinoceros skeleton replica, T-Rex and Mastodon skull replicas, petrified objects, and a bird gallery for identifying your favorite flying friends.

Explore visitor favorites. Mold sand by hand to bring the landscape to life in our augmented-reality sandbox. Find artifacts in the fossil dig. Explore bird calls of every single breeding bird in North America with our Bird Song Bible.

Visit the museum 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free.

Guided museum tours are available for school or community field trips. For more information, contact Celeste Skalnek at (810) 989-5833 or cskalnek@sc4.edu.
