SC4’s apprenticeship programs are valuable for students and employers

Nick Pringle

Working while going to school is fairly common for St. Clair County Community College students.

Apprenticeships, however, take that to a new level.

SC4’s apprenticeship programs allow a student to get on-the-job training — getting paid while doing it — and work toward a degree that is geared toward their career all at once.

Nov. 14-20 is National Apprenticeship Week, and as part of that, SC4 is holding a free information session from 1 to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15, in Room 150 of the Welcome Center.

Students and employers can learn more about starting a registered apprenticeship program, and representatives from the college and the Department of Labor will be on hand to answer any questions.

Anyone interested in apprenticeship programs at SC4 can email workforce@sc4.edu for more information.
