PORT HURON – More than 300 St. Clair County Community College students, alumni and community members met with representatives from 79 employers at the college’s 2018 Career Fair in the SC4 Fieldhouse on Thursday.
The record number of participating employers came from a wide range of industries, including health care, manufacturing, hospitality, government and service, education, public safety and retail. The event was hosted by the college’s Workforce Development team.
“We were looking for a diverse skill set. We walked away very pleased with our results. We gathered resumes and shared information with a number of qualified candidates.” Said John Tucker, of PTM Corporation. “If anyone seeking a career wanted to connect with a large number of the area’s strongest employers, I couldn’t imagine a better venue with a greater variety than I saw at the SC4 Career Fair.”
The annual event provides employers and job seekers the opportunity to meet, connect and find out about job opportunities.
“We are deeply committed to connecting our college community with outstanding employers, and we are thrilled that so many companies joined us at our annual fair yesterday,” said Bonnie DiNardo, director of Workforce Development. “It illustrates that our students and alumni are valued across industries and have a significant impact on our region.”
DiNardo added, “We are beyond grateful to community partners such as the Economic Development Alliance of St. Clair County, Macomb/St. Clair Michigan Works and the Blue Water Area Chamber. Their continued commitment to the success of this region and its people is commendable and appreciated.”
