Computer Skills for the Office

The six-month, entry-level program is designed for people who need computer and workplace skills for career opportunities in the office environment. You will prepare to take the following certification exams:

  • Internet and Computing Core (IC3)
  • Microsoft Office Specialist

Students work on an assignment on a computer.

As a self-paced program, you may enter the program at any time and are expected to complete the program and take your certification exams within six months. You are required to spend 20 hours a week working through the course material. An open lab in the Achievement Center in SC4’s College Center is available from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday.

A qualified instructor will be available to coach students. You will meet with the lab instructor to construct a personal project plan to facilitate completion of all coursework and examinations within six months.

The cost of this program includes all materials and certification exam vouchers.


This program has no prerequisites. Applicants are strongly encouraged to take the free Accuplacer tests, available through the college’s Testing Center, in order to prepare for further studies in business or other subjects in the future.
