Criminal Background Check
St. Clair County Community College’s clinical partners follow the Michigan Public Health Code Act of 368 of 1978. This includes the addendums of the Michigan Public Acts 27, 28, and 29 of 2006. To be consistent with our clinical partners all students must consent to and pass a criminal background check (CBC) and drug screen. Lack of compliance or failure to pass CBC or drug screen will impact the student’s admission and retention in the nursing program. Any active students that become subject to criminal prosecution must report it immediately to the Nursing Program Director. More information on how to complete the required drug screen and CBC will be discussed during the mandatory Nursing Program admission orientation.
