Anchor Bay School District and SC4 Collaborate to Encourage Post High School Education

Anchor Bay School District and SC4 are working together to eliminate a step to enroll at SC4. Anchor Bay High seniors will automatically be admitted to SC4 without needing to complete a college application. Eliminating the application step for high school graduates streamlines the transition from high school to college including encouraging early access to scholarships, advising, and college services.

Beginning with the high school graduating class of 2024, student data from Anchor Bay School District will be entered into the SC4 data system to permit students to activate an SC4 account and immediately begin enrollment steps for the Fall 2024 college semester.

“Anchor Bay is excited to offer our students the ability to continue their education at SC4 through Direct Admissions. We look forward to working with SC4 to create a pathway to higher education for all of our students. This is an incredible partnership that will provide countless future opportunities for our students in the future,” said Phil Jankowski, Anchor Bay School District Superintendent.

“SC4 and Anchor Bay School District have collaborated to create a seamless path for all students to have access to higher education. Every student is deserving of the chance to succeed and the commitment of Anchor Bay School District and SC4 is a positive example of public education working together for families and students,” said Kirk Kramer, President of SC4.

The program of automatic admission to SC4 is at no cost to students or the school. Students are not required to enroll. The program includes all students graduating from Anchor Bay High School.

SC4 Men’s Soccer Head Coach Announcement

SC4 Director of Athletics Dale Vos has named Brian Alumbaugh as head coach for the newly formed SC4 men’s soccer team. Alumbaugh, an SC4 graduate with nearly ten years of coaching experience, was selected for the position following a national search.

“I am very excited to have Brian join the staff and lead in the building of our new men’s soccer team,” Vos said. “I have great confidence in Brian’s ability and impressive resume to be able to lay a strong foundation and build something special at SC4 and within the MCCAA.”

Alumbaugh played two years of Division I soccer for Long Island University. He then transferred to Michigan State University to complete his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology and coursework in coaching. After this, he continued playing for an additional year as a graduate transfer to Robert Morris University. After his time at Robert Morris, Alumbaugh transitioned to coaching. He has coached high school club teams worldwide, including teams in New Zealand, Norway, Ohio, and Michigan. Alumbaugh was also an assistant and interim head coach at Muskingum University from 2017–2019 where he received his master’s degree in adult education.

Alumbaugh is currently the recreation director at the Rochester Soccer Club and runs the Elite 100 College ID Camps, which he founded in 2022.

“This is a very unique opportunity to be able to help start the soccer team from scratch and I’m excited to get in there, get some guys, and build this program into something special,” said Alumbaugh.

The SC4 men’s soccer team will start their first season in Fall 2024.
