After listening to feedback from participants, St. Clair County Community College is bringing back pre-registration for its annual Free College Day event, and moving it back to early spring.
The 15th annual Free College Day is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 25, on SC4’s Port Huron campus.
Classes for all ages will be offered in a variety of subjects and registration will begin online and by phone at 8 a.m. Monday, March 6. Participants can find a list of classes and register at www.sc4.edu/FreeCollegeDay. A full list of classes will also be available in the Sunday, March 5, edition of the Times Herald.
Phone registration will be available between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday until March 24 by calling (810) 989-5709. Drop-in sessions are available on the day of the event.
Classes will be held at 9 a.m., 10:15 a.m., 11:45 a.m. and 1 p.m. They will be taught by SC4 faculty and staff, as well as local residents who are volunteering their time. Science, history, technology, arts and business will be among the many topics covered in the classes.
A free screening of the Golden Globe Award-winning movie Selma will follow at 2 p.m. in the SC4 Fine Arts Theatre.
The cafeteria will be open to purchase lunch, or participants may bring a bagged lunch.
