PORT HURON, Mich. — St. Clair County Community College (SC4) has announced the appointment of Dane Vos as Interim Athletic Director, effective immediately.
A familiar and respected leader within the SC4 athletic department, Vos brings a wealth of experience, institutional knowledge, and a deep commitment to student-athlete success. He most recently served as Assistant Athletic Director after previously serving as an assistant coach for the women’s basketball program and Fieldhouse Operations Manager.
“Dane has demonstrated outstanding leadership, a genuine commitment to our student-athletes, and a strong understanding of the mission of SC4,” said Sarah Rutallie, Chief of Staff at SC4. “His experience as both a former student-athlete and a member of our athletic leadership team makes him exceptionally well-suited to guide the department during this transition. We are confident he will continue building on the strong foundation that has been established.”
Vos is a proud SC4 alumnus and former student-athlete. He earned an Associate Degree in Business from SC4 while competing for two seasons on the men’s basketball team. He continued both his academic and athletic career at Olivet College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Sport and Recreation Management and a Master of Business Administration while playing collegiate basketball.
Since returning to SC4, Vos has played a key role in the continued growth of the college’s athletic programs. As Assistant Athletic Director, he has helped strengthen departmental operations, enhance the student-athlete experience, and support the ongoing success of SC4’s competitive teams both on and off the field of play.
As Interim Athletic Director, Vos will oversee a department that continues to expand its opportunities for student-athletes. SC4 Athletics currently offers men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s track, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s soccer, softball, baseball, volleyball, and men’s and women’s bowling. The college is also preparing to launch women’s flag football and men’s hockey, further broadening opportunities for student-athletes and reinforcing SC4’s commitment to athletic excellence, academic achievement, leadership development, and community engagement.

St Clair County Community College (SC4) was founded in 1923 and is the only public higher education institution in the thumb of Michigan. SC4 is a comprehensive community college that provides certificates and degrees for employable skills and college credits that can be transferred to a four-year college or university. The college provides collegiate arts and athletics for the area and has been an asset for students and the Port Huron community for over one hundred years.
