Parents
A smart choice.
Choosing a college is a big decision. On top of all the tests and extracurricular activities expected of students, the price tag of a college degree has gone up. SC4 is a smart alternative. Your student can begin on their college journey affordably while also getting a hands-on learning experience and one-on-one attention they likely wouldn’t get in a large university setting. Whether you need information about life on campus, college costs and financing, or how we manage health and safety, here are some resources that will help you feel confident that SC4 is the right choice for your student.
Information and Resources for Parents
Academics
At SC4, your student will have the advantage of learning from experienced instructors in a small class setting. A number of our degree programs are regarded as the best of their kind in the region. SC4 nursing students, for instance, have a first-time pass rate of 98% on their national boards. And our online programs are ranked among the best in Michigan.
Affording College
Your student can earn a two- or four-year degree affordably while gaining hands-on experience they might not get at a large university. We can guide you through information on scholarships, work-study arrangements, internships and more.
Campus Life
Your student can have the full college experience at SC4, from catching a game at our state-of-the-art Fieldhouse to joining a student organization. SC4 provides students with limitless opportunities to connect with their college community while working toward their academic or career goals.
College in High School
If your student is still in high school, they can get a jump start on college as a high school guest student, and you can save money on their education! You also can explore other dual-enrollment options such as the Blue Water Middle College and the Career and Technical Middle College.
College Housing
SC4’s student residence halls are just steps away from classes and campus life in downtown Port Huron. Housing units are fully furnished and provide students with easy access to the area’s great dining and entertainment options, recreation and outdoor activities, and potential employment opportunities with local businesses.
Health and Safety
We’re committed to the health and safety of our campus community here at SC4. The college maintains an on-campus health clinic and offers disability support services and more, and Campus Security works to ensure a safe and secure campus environment.
