Sign up for text alerts to receive urgent notifications about weather closings, power outages, campus safety issues, or other closure information.

SC4’s text alert system provided by Informacast allows you to opt in to receive urgent notifications from St. Clair County Community College.

Additionally, SC4 provides access to a mobile panic button via the new Informacast mobile app on your Android or iOS device. This app provides students, faculty, and staff the ability to alert the Campus Patrol office to an issue and provide the GPS location of your mobile device.

To register for SMS text messages:

1. Log into the SC4 portal by visiting https://sc4.edu/portal  
2. Under Campus Resources, click the TEXT ALERT NOTIFICATION SYSTEM  button to review your information or register your device.
3. Sign in with your SC4 email address and current password
4. Under the Registered Devices and Locations section, choose Add User Device
   • Device Type: SMS
   • Phone Number: your 10-digit mobile phone number
   • Name: Mobile | Home | Work | Main | Other
5. Press Save to save your information
6. Follow the instructions to verify your new notification settings

If you’ve chosen to register a device for SMS text message alerts, the system will send you a confirmation text message. You must reply START to finish enrolling your device.

To download the Informacast app:

1. Visit your device’s app store and search for “Informacast”  by SingleWire Software.
2. Download and install the Informacast app.
3. Sign in with your SC4 email address and current password.
4. You will be asked to allow notifications and location services while using the app. You must enable these services for Campus Patrol to see your location when you press the panic button.
