Mert Sela performs at SC4 as part of the Noon and Night Concert Series

SC4 continues its popular Noon and Night Concert Series with an impressive performance by internationally renowned classical and flamenco guitarist Mert Sela.

Mert Sela began studying guitar at a young age in Turkey and holds a bachelor’s degree in Guitar from Kocaeli University. He taught for 15 years at a private music school in Turkey before moving to St. Clair and spent two years in Spain studying flamenco music. Sela also developed a patented teaching method supported by his app, the Sela Music Clock.

Mert Sela will perform at the SC4 Fine Arts Theatre at 12:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2026. Admission is free and open to the public.

“The Noon and Night Concert Series reflects SC4’s ongoing commitment to enriching our campus and community through the arts,” said Sarah Rutallie, Chief of Staff/Senior Vice President at St. Clair County Community College. “We are proud to welcome an artist of Mert Sela’s international caliber to our Fine Arts Theatre and to offer this exceptional cultural experience free and open to the public.”

St Clair County Community College (SC4) was founded in 1923 and is the only public higher education institution in the thumb of Michigan. SC4 is a comprehensive community college that provides certificates and degrees for employable skills and college credits that can be transferred to a four-year college or university. The college provides collegiate arts and athletics for the area and has been an asset for students and the Port Huron community for over one hundred years.
