SC4 Athletic Director Dale Vos inducted into NJCAA Hall of Fame, named BCAM Coach of the Year

The NJCAA Men’s Golf Coaches Association has announced that St. Clair County Community College Athletic Director Dale Vos will be inducted into its 2019 Hall of Fame class alongside Kirkwood Community College Head Coach Darin Pint.

The induction marks another honor in what has been an exciting year for Vos, as he also was recently named Men’s Junior College Coach of the Year by the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan

Vos has served as the sport chair for NJCAA Division II Men’s Golf for 20 years. One of his first acts as chair was to move the national tournament to a course that met the standards of a championship event. After nearly two decades in charge, Vos has hosted the annual meetings at both the national tournament as well as the NJCAA national meetings every April.

This year, Vos led SC4 to a 27-8 record in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association this season — their highest win total since 1968-69 — then on to an NJCAA District 10 Men’s Tournament Championship and the team’s second appearance in the NJCAA Division II National Championship Tournament.

Fans can have some extra fun at the ballpark during special promotional games this season. During rivalry days on Saturday, April 20 (softball), and Saturday, April 27 (baseball), attendees will receive free SC4 rally towels. And during Pup at the Park days on Saturday, April 13 (baseball), and Saturday, May 4 (softball), fans can take in the game with their four-legged friends.

A number of Skippers baseball and softball players have gone on to play and coach in local and national collegiate and professional sports. For instance, former Skipper Paul Fry is off to a great start with the Baltimore Orioles this season, and Bill Nahorodny’s Major League Baseball career was just recently featured by NBC Sports.
