Former Skipper standout pitcher Paul Fry is going to get his shot with the Seattle Mariners.

Fry, who played for St. Clair County Community College in the 2011 and 2013 seasons, was added to the Mariners’ 40-man Major League roster this past week, meaning he’ll be part of the team’s MLB camp in spring training.

This past season, Fry pitched for the Mariners’ AAA affiliate in Tacoma. He was 3-1 with a 2.78 earned-run average and 65 strikeouts in 55 innings. Fry appeared in 48 games for Tacoma, nearly all of them as a reliever.

He was dominant down the stretch, allowing three earned runs and striking out 31 in his final 25 innings of the season.

The lefty was selected in the 17th round of the MLB Draft in 2013.
