SC4 history class learns on the ‘battlefield’

Unless you count the movie 300, there is no actual footage of the battles of Marathon or Thermopylae.

So in order to give her students a better understanding of what happened, St. Clair County Community College history professor Patricia Frank took them out onto the battlefield. Kind of.

Frank’s History 101 class met on the lawn between the Main Building and the fire department on Thursday, Sept. 22, to re-enact the battles, using notebooks and pencils as shields and spears. It was, fortunately, a non-contact re-enactment.
