Name and address changes

Chosen Names are used for postal mailings that are sent to the mailing address on file for each student. Chosen Names are also used on the President’s Honors List and the associated certificates that students receive. The President’s Honors List is released to news media outlets.

SC4 offers a Chosen Name option, where faculty, staff, and students can change the first and middle names that are displayed in the college’s student information system (including Student Self Service) and faculty class rosters. A chosen name can be provided within a student’s Self Service account under the User Options > User Profile menu.

Student club lists use students’ Chosen Names. Membership in a student club is subject to publication on campus and in news media outlets.

Students wishing to update their legal name(s) must provide legal documentation (marriage license, court documentation, divorce papers, etc.) before name changes are processed. Last names can only be changed with legal documentation.
