The first stop on the road to the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II Softball National Tournament will be in Port Huron for teams in District J.
Pine Grove Park, home of the St. Clair County Community College softball team, will play host to the District J Tournament, with a spot in the national tournament’s final 16 up for grabs.
The tournament begins at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, with Delta College taking on Macomb Community College. Sinclair CC will play Mott CC at 3 p.m., and the winner of the first game will play Oakland CC at 5 p.m.
The double-elimination tournament will continue Thursday, May 11, with games at 10 a.m., noon, 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
The championship game is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, May 12. A second game would be played at noon, if necessary.
This season’s national tournament will be held in Clinton, Mississippi, May 17-20.
