Engineering Technology – Mechatronics

The field of mechatronics combines elements of mechanical engineering, electronics, computer engineering, telecommunications and systems engineering for a multi-disciplinary approach to technology used in many economic sectors. Hands-on labs provide experience working on leading edge logic controllers from Siemens and Allen Bradley. Students gain technical skills needed to design, install, program, integrate, service and troubleshoot mechatronic components and systems. These skills lead to careers in hydraulics, pneumatics and automation program design.

“You get to go in the labs and actually see what you were just learning. Then you can apply it and watch it work.”
