Get started at SC4

Save time and money by starting at SC4. Take courses on your way to careers that require two-year associate, four-year bachelor’s and graduate degrees.

1. Decide whether you’ll want to take and transfer courses, earn a full degree or certificate at SC4, and/or transfer to a four-year institution. Be sure to learn about transfer degrees and options like the Michigan Transfer Agreement. Depending on your career interests, SC4 can most likely provide a smart start on your path to success.
2. Schedule a meeting with an advisor for assistance to ensure all credits will transfer with you.
3. Apply and register for courses.

• ENG 101 – English Composition I 
• ENG 102 – English Composition II or SPC 101 – Speech Communication
• 2 courses in Social Science (anthropology, economics, geography, history, political science, psychology, sociology) from two disciplines
• 2 courses in Humanities (art, history, literature, modern language, music, philosophy, theatre) from two disciplines 
• 2 courses in Science (biology, astronomy, chemistry, geology, physical science or physics), including one with laboratory experience, from two disciplines 
• 1 course from the appropriate Mathematics pathway 

SC4 is a member of the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA), which simplifies the general coursework transfer of credit for SC4 students between community colleges, four-year public colleges, and some private colleges in Michigan. SC4’s in-district tuition and fees are about one-third of the average cost at one of Michigan’s four-year public universities. Additionally, SC4 students may also benefit from financial aid packages, scholarships, grants and loans.
