Please note that those applying for nursing, radiologic technology and respiratory therapy must also complete the health sciences application.

If you need to transfer credits from other colleges or universities, have official transcripts sent to SC4 as soon as possible to allow time for evaluation. Official transcripts can be sent electronically to enrollment@sc4.edu or by mail to:

This step is optional, but you may be surprised at what you qualify for! Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and find out. You’ll need SC4’s Federal School Code, which is 002310.

Learn more about the Financial Aid process or make an appointment with a Financial Aid officer. You also can email financialaid@sc4.edu.

If you have financial aid on your account, it will automatically be applied to your tuition when you register.

After you register, you can see your balance, make a payment or set up a payment plan by clicking on the Student Finance tab in your Service Center in the Portal.

Please be aware of tuition costs and payment due dates.

Please note that high school guests, college guests, students attending for personal enrichment, and students without a high school diploma or GED are not eligible for financial aid.

Placement into your first English and math class

New students are required to take assessments for math and writing skills (or submit scores from previous assessment tests) in order to register for English (ENG), mathematics (MTH), or some science courses where a specific level of writing or math proficiency is required. These assessments ensure that you’re placed in the right courses. This also applies to transfer students without college-level English and/or math classes on a college transcript.

SC4 accepts scores from the following assessment tests:  SAT, ACT, and ACCUPLACER. Consider taking ACCUPLACER assessments testing at the SC4 Testing Center if you took the ACT / SAT exam in high school. Call (810) 989-5555 to schedule your assessment tests. You can also schedule your testing appointment online.

Avoid registration delays for future semesters by getting testing requirements completed soon!

AP credit

If you took an AP class in high school and passed the AP exam for that class with a score of “3” or better, you may be eligible for college credit. We encourage you to look at what SC4 credit your AP class may be applied to. Keep in mind that some four-year schools may require a higher score on the AP exam to obtain credit at that institution.

If you didn’t request to have the scores sent to SC4 when you took the test, you will need to request that through your College Board account.

The SC4 Portal is where you will access your Service Center, college email and our online classroom.

You will use the Service Center to view your degree progress and register for classes, view your grades, view your Financial Aid status and make a payment.

How to access

Go to sc4.edu/portal and enter your username and password. You can reset your password at sc4.edu/password-reset.

On the left side of the Portal under the announcements, click on College Credit Students and Service Center to access your student menu.

Student Planning

In the Service Center, click on Student Planning to see your degree progress and register for classes. See full instructions here.


We encourage you to check your SC4 email a few times a week.

How to access

In your Portal, click on the College Email button on the right side. Log in using your full SC4 email address (Portal user name followed by @student.sc4.edu) and then click on Outlook. Learn more at sc4.edu/email.

An advising appointment is not currently required for new students, but you are encouraged to make an appointment to discuss class selection, degree requirements and transfer planning. To schedule an appointment please visit the Advising page.

Stop by the Testing Center in the SC4 College Center to get a picture taken for your Skippers One Card. This is your SC4 student ID, your library card and how you access services on campus. Your OneCard will be mailed to you after you register.

Your Skippers OneCard will be mailed in a bright green envelope five to ten business days after registering for your classes. Please register your card by following the instructions that accompany the card. If you have any questions, please stop by the Testing Center or call (810) 989-5555.

Visit SC4 Bookstore to see what books and supplies you need for your classes.

You can order books through the Bookstore website or come to the Bookstore on campus.

You can charge your Financial Aid account in the Bookstore both online and in person.

If you are taking online classes, you will access them in Canvas on the first day of class. Learn more about online classes at sc4.edu/online.

Title IX notice

Annual Security and Fire Safety Report notice

SC4’s current Annual Security and Fire Safety Report is available. The Annual Security Report discloses information concerning campus safety and security policies and procedures, as well as statistics regarding certain types of crimes, per Clery Act requirements, reported to the campus and local law enforcement during the prior calendar year. SC4 also will provide a paper copy of our most recent Report upon request.
